Tumblr (3.0; @billnewsinger)http://billnewsinger.tumblr.com/<p>I dont know what came over me but I had the insane and obviously doomed notion to download Adobe Elements 7 day Trial to my useless windows craptop computer. It took about 20 mins to download and about 50 mins to install. I then spent about an hour waiting for it to import 1 photo. 1 photo! It could go no further as I attempted optimistically to scroll through various options. It froze up. I put my finger down on the button of death and it whirred to a dead stop. I waited for it to have a little kip and then I started it up again. 35 mins and it was ready to do stuff. Oh….look….updates are ready for my computer. Later. I went straight to uninstall programs and clicked on photoshop trial. I walked away after one hour. It needed 2 to finish. I must remind myself that I must never waste any more evenings doing stuff like this. More than once I have yelled at the poxy thing. Im getting far too old for this. I went along with my camera and was given a HV Vest to wear. For a few brief hours I was David Bailey. Amazing what a bright orange vest can do. Updates….restarts….programme not responding….security warnings…..freeze ups……total crashes. I cannot watch a fucking  video. Programme not responding. It stop/starts every 2 seconds and freezes completely at about 75% whether it is a huge file or tiny file. Programme not responding. It takes me at least half an hour to download from my camera. Programme not responding. I pick up a file to drag it to the recycle bin….it slips through my fingers and lands…..er….somewhere else. Maybe its in my documents. I know…I’ll “search” it…..”no results”. Programme not responding. Everything I plug in has to go through this “looking for drivers” routine or you end up having to go and find discs and re-install stuff. Programme not responding. The internet is an ordeal on this machine. Photo’s fail to upload to flickr and tumblr. Everything is shit. Programme not responding. And when youre getting your knickers in a twist trying to stop it doing some obviously doomed task, it ignores you and then up pops…..”updates are ready for your computer”. Macs are a million times better. Ive had a great deal of experience with both and there is no comparison. Just need to save up a couple of grand to get one.
